can u give the boards in another state, not where you did residency?
what do you do for the two months that u r unemployed??(apart from studying )

I'm in third year IM residency, so I can't be 100% sure, but I'm assuming it doesn't matter where you take the boards as it is all computerized now. I imagine the test is pretty much the same no matter what state you take it in.

As for what to do those two months? Depends on you, I guess. For me, in addition to studying, I will also be moving to a totally different state, so that leaves me with plenty to do. If you're worried about finances, I suppose you could take a temp job for those two months, but I'm not sure what type of job would be realistic to take on.

I know of some people who started their jobs in July, and then took time off to study around August. It's hard to say, each situation is so different.
