Hello everyone!!!

I hope everyone is well and congrats to everyone who took the DAT already and did well. For those of us who are still studing I have to ask......How much in depth do you guys think we need to study in Spectroscopy???. I mean I know the basics about IR , UV, Mass NMR spec but for those of you that have taken the exam.....Do we really need to cover a lot of base or am I wasting precious time going over this too much???? please help!!!

Know the basics. Nothing more.

I agree. Make sure, you definately understand the importance of symmetric structures and how neighboring hydrogen atoms will affect the spectra of their neighbors. I don't remember being asked to recall specific wavelength details for particular functional groups or bonds.
