All,

I've tried searching for this on this forum, but I haven't found anything specific, so forgive me if this has actually been rehashed somewhere on this board and I can't find it.

When doing away electives, who do you all email/call as your contact person? Do you simply email a member of the faculty? The program director (sounds like a bad idea to me but what do I know)?

I'm looking on the websites, and while some give a contact, others do not. I also went to the eye orbit site with the search options, but it does not have any records for some of the programs that I'd like to check out nor contact information. Is there a list anywhere?

Any help on this matter I'd much appreciate!

Thanks,

Ice

When I was thinking of away electives, I would Google the school/programs. On their website, they usually have an application that you print out and mail to them. The application will usually have other information that they require, such as immunizations, LORs, etc. There was a helpful website that had all the med schools with links on one page. I believe I found that page just from Googling. The hardest part was just finding programs that had the same clinical calender as your home school. PM me if you have any further questions.

you can always ask your home program's PD or chairman or someone u trust for names of people who might help you with. My friend gave me some names and I took it from there. I also did an away at where I went to college so i could hang out with college friends in my free time. good luck

This is a very helpful link, just keep in mind that a handful of programs may have away electives available but are not listed through the above link (e.g. UC Davis)

bruinteg, thanks for the link, it's really helpful.

Pike, do you know of others besides UC Davis that aren't listed?
