Will my spouse being an alumni and a private practice MD in my schools town help me in getting in? I have a bad GPA from college 5-6 years ago and a 3.7 now, (not combined). I heard that she may be able to sit on the acceptance committee at the school. Any comments or experiences?

Don't know about that one pal.... getting hook ups on the adcoms.... sounds a bit illegal but I'm sure it happens.... :eek:

While having a spouse who is well-regarded in the community may certainly warrant your application a closer look, I am willing to bet if that he/she were able to secure a position on the admissions committe that your spouse would be required to remove themselves from any decisions on your application.

Then again, we are talking about Texas... ;)
