Hi everyone,

Intern IM resident soon to become 2nd year-- any advice on how to be a decent senior resident-- I am scared because I have had difficulty keeping track of my patients (their labs, vitals, etc) throughout this year and was wondering if anyone has any advice as to how you are able to do this on twice the number of pts as a senior resident? Any input would be appreciated. thanks.

There's somewhat of a paradigm shift as an upper level - You don't have to know every little vital and lab value (which is what an intern would have to track), just what's important. Take a step back look at the big picture and realize what you are actively treating and what you really need to follow.

i think just getting on with it will be a good idea at the first place. then slowly you can always take hold of what you need to do.
