Jeff none 05-08-2002, 09:33 AM MSTP is a very specific MD/PhD program offered at around 33 schools and funded by the National Institutes of Health. Generally, the top MD/PhD programs are MSTP, but this is not always the case. Courseloads vary amongst the schools as much as they do for non-MSTP MD/PhD programs. Job prospects are the same as for any MD or PhD, but MD/PhDs are most often found in acadaemia. RNAgirl 05-08-2002, 10:40 AM Jeff, Here's a link to a brief description of the MSTP and a list of the schools which have this program. The MSTP is an MD-PhD training program funded by the NIH. <a href="http://www.nigms.nih.gov/funding/trngmech.html#ee" target="_blank">http://www.nigms.nih.gov/funding/trngmech.html#ee</a> And, here's a link to a study from 1998 describing the career paths of MSTP graduates. It also includes comparisons of MSTP and non-MSTP MD-PhD program graduates. <a href="http://www.nigms.nih.gov/news/reports/mstpstudy/mstp-print.html" target="_blank">http://www.nigms.nih.gov/news/reports/mstpstudy/mstp-print.html</a> Hope this helps!
