Im Wondering What Factors Do Programs Look Into For Applying For Pgy-2. My Friend And I Have Been Sending Applications To Some Programs. She Has Slightly Better Usmle Scores But I Have Us Reasearch And Us Rotation Experience, But She Has Been By Far Doing Better Than Me And Has Already Got 2-3 Offers And Ive Got None. Im Really Upset. Any Help Please??????????????

I'm not sure there's a simple answer. Basically, I look for:
1. All the stuff that I look at for PGY-1 spots (Med school, USMLE, grades, etc)
AND
2. Where you did your PGY-1 training, and how well you did.
If you train for your PGY-1 in a community setting, it will be difficult to get a University spot. There is no central clearinghouse for PGY-2 spots, it's simply a matter of asking around. Many spots go unlisted/unadvertised. Your best advocate is your current program director.
