These aren't really forums for medical advice. Sorry. Geri_Gal 05-25-2007, 10:32 AM You might want to try a google search on this one. I've never heard of this -- I do know that in surgery for lung cancer a double lumen endotracheal tube can be used. It has a bronchial cuff that inflates and allows one lung to not be ventilated so that a surgeon can operate on the lung, removing all or part of it. whopper 05-25-2007, 01:46 PM I'm not asking for medical advice. I'm a doctor. Just don't know what a lung cuff is. If someone can explain what it is, that's all i'm asking. I'm not asking for advice, I'm asking for technical data. I checked google, couldn't find it. avhart 05-27-2007, 08:39 AM might be talking about a sleeve resection. if you google that I'm sure you'll get some hits. Friend of a friend is going to have one to treat his lung cancer. if the cancer is in the earlier parts of invasions into left atrium, they might be referring to an atrial cuff of tissue needed for primary closure. questions about surgical resection of lung cancers might be better suited for the surgery forums (and not the medicine forums) |
