not really. Besides the known trend of decreasing atomic radii across the periodic table... He is simply experiencing a more Effective Nuclear Charge. 2 protons means pulling the 2 electrons in stronger...right?

As far as counterintuivity goes, I've spent a couple of mins and what RU said makes sense.
