I got this question wrong, and I chose choice C. Can any one please expain to me by it cant be C?

i got that wrong yesterday too.. did the same thing you did. The answer choice C is wrong because you are looking at it from the front/back view. And that column that sticks up in answer choice c can be seen in the figure given, but however the column in answer choice C is longer than it should be, so that answer is wrong. if you look at the bottom/top end view, the correct answer comes out to be choice B; those steps are made by those protruding blocks in the front face

On the same note. Isnt the answer in B a bit too large/long? Yes, the blocks standing out is what makes the step like outlet, but the outlet as a whole is a tad bit tall (which translates to the lenght of the figure) The figure definitely does not seems as long as the one in the answer choices.
