hey man i've been trying to study for step 2, and this thing is getting very annoying...
its a speck, black-ish gray/transparent, somewhere near the center of where i look,
recently noticed that when i swing my eye to one side(or up/down), the floater moves to the other side of the central vision
if i go to a ophtalmologist are they able to take it out or something?

Read somewhere that it's just there, till u get used to it or it will go off by itself. Checkout any medline/medscape/healthline e.t.c.

Preventive or thing to look out for:

If you see the raining of dots/floaters, a whole downpour, it's something that you should look into straightaway. It's an emergency. It could be retinal detachment that you'll want to worry about.

Another is you might want to check out the AMSLER GRID chart, to rule out macular degeneration (AMD), since you mentioned about a floater in the center.

Floaters gets on ppls. who does constant visual work like photography, medical technologist, etc. if not, its part of life? But i do know that Lutein rich foods are good for preventative measures. Anything thing--coloured fruits and veg. --selenium,zinc,vit. A,C,E --nutri supplement.

check out other med. info. sites. I'm a commoner who knows only this much, lets wait out for more professional advice.
