There are three or four Canadian retina fellowships listed on SFMatch, which my husband is thinking about applying for. Does anybody know if there is any licensure reciprocity with Canada? Or does one need to take the MCCEE exams as well? (As he won't even be eligible to sit for the Boards until after he completes PGY-4.)

Thanks for any and all advice.

There is no real reciprocity with Canada, but restricted licenses are not a problem. I've know plenty of foreign (mainly US, Japan, Australia) MD's that have done fellowships at Canadian programs, however they were only permitted to practice within the sponsoring institution.

Check with the respective College of Physicians and Surgeons for each province.
