What is everyone doing when it comes to these? I was thinking about keeping the ophtho statement and just changing the last paragraph to explain why a TY/Prelim year would make me a good ophthalmologist. Is anyone writing an entire different statement?

That's exactly what I did last year and I ended up at my first choice prelim program. Try not to spend too much time on the personal statement for the prelim, you should focus more on the SFMatch.
Good luck!

I agree....you can change it around a little to explain why you are a good well rounded doctor and would be a good TY resident, but they know u are only there for a year and then into ophtho...so don't fret/spend too much time on it, but make it good enough to get in somewhere nice!
Good luck
