Anyways, I'm currently making flashcards from all four roadmaps in destroyer. If I do this and have all these rxn's down pat, should I be good for the rxn's on the DAT?

I think the roadmaps are overkill. The way they are layed out does not work for me. I've done destroyer, achiever, topscore, kaplan, and have been doing good with memorizing only the basics. You're better off understanding the classes of reagents then trying to memorize all that crap. SN1,SN2,E1,E2,aromatic directing -- these will cut out half of the roadmap rxns. Unless you are trying to get a 25 or something. I also think the Mcmurray text book uses more relevent, generic reagents. I think some of the destroyer rxn questions are pretty overkill, but then again I haven't sat for the dat yet.

I'm inclined to agree with the above poster. My highest section was Ochem and although I did use the Destroyer and the roadmaps, I wouldn't focus all your energy into them because the ochem section for my DAT didn't really go into the kind of detail the destroyer does. Mainly Sn1,Sn2,E1,E2, Diels Alder...that's like the extent that I had. Alot more conceptual questions concerning stability, acidity, basicity, and such

what kind of books did you use to study for the DAT- which ones should I buy

I would know the roadmaps, just in case. You never know what might come up.
