I am currently a medical resident and need to switch to another city because of personal reasons. I'm wander how to go about that. Where do they post empty spot? Should I tell me program director? what facters do programs look to accept transfers?

I would talk to your PD about it and see if they can help you transfer to another program (they might know someone) and they can get a list of open positions. Also, contact the programs and see if they have an opening coming up.
