How did everyone do on the inservice??? Did you guys think it was hard? Part A and B?

I think I probably did OK all things considered. I felt like I was taking the Rheum/Endo boards w/ a liberal sprinkling of crazy-ass EKGs thrown in. About 10% of the questions had anything to do w/ patients I've actually cared for (mostly the liver failure and ethics type questions). Part B was harder than A simply because, by that point in the day I couldn't have possibly cared less. I left at 3p, ours started around 8:15 and I took a 20 min coffee break and a very long lunch...I wasn't the first person to leave.

My neck was sore at the end of the exam -- seriously -- I don't think I've ever taken a paper exam that long!

I thought part B was more difficult than A. I had less motivation and was in need of a caffeine bolus, but I had more esoteric rheum/endo/ID questions in the 2nd half of the exam.

I agree with both of you. Part B harder than the former.

I just hated seeing all those hematology slides after lunch!

Yeah, after part A I was wondering if this was the in-service exam or Rheum practice boards. I was feeling really good for about the first 1.5-2 hours but then the questions became harder and longer. I especially liked the one with which consult are you going to call first --hmm, maybe all of them. ;) Some recent grads say that the inservice is tougher than the actual boards in some ways--wouldn't we be so lucky if that's true.
