Hey is anyone else a little :eek: that the UTSW pre-interview dinner is 10.1 miles away from the hotels they put us up in.

Yeah, that is kind of goofy, but unfortunately there isn't a ton of stuff right by the medical center. Although, uptown is pretty close by so it's kind of surprising they didn't pick a restaraunt there. Anyway, I'm sure you could email or call the residency office and they would be able to find you a ride with one of the residents, since many of them live close to the school.

i hadn't thought about that...that's true, there are a ton of really nice places uptown and even by the university - wonder why they picked this particular place. but in any case, blue mesa grill is also in a really nice and safe area, kind of north dallas/addison, easy ride from the med ctr so it shouldn't (hopefully) take too long. as wilco said maybe the residents will offer to give rides. i wouldn't think a cab ride to the place would be too expensive though.

Not sure why we've done it there for at least the last 5 years. It's a bit of drive, but a nice spot with a large private dining area for the group.
