Hey, I am expecting to matriculate to a D.O. school and I am trying to learn more about OMM for interview and for my future. What are some of the most effective OMM treatments? In addition, I have heard that cranial manipulation is "pure witchcraft" according to my cousin D.O., and I see a similar thread here. Is it effective or unproven?

Could any of you guys refer me to any clinical studies regarding OMM? I am especially interested in those that are more effective than allopathic treatments -- this is what makes the "D.O. difference".

There are a lot of weird treatments I have read about, including "chelation therapy", and Still "curing" diabetes in his textbook. So, any info on the "D.O. difference" is appreciated.

There are articles that goes both ways for OMM. I think the old school docs are wary about Cranial manipulation. Also, I don't think you need to talk about specific studies in your interviews!! Just say how you understand that medicine (in some cases) do not necessarily cure the disease, just helps with symptoms.

In the second link, just type in osteopathic manipulation.
