How much did not having a calculator slow you guys down? No calculators allowed on any section. When I took the DAT years ago, the GChem either had easy round numbers to work with OR they were just set ups. Don't know if this has changed though. jigabodo 11-18-2007, 04:27 PM Some questions on QR can be quite time consuming. It would probably be best to brush up your basic math skills to try to speed things up a little bit. sddat 11-18-2007, 04:59 PM thank you!! Montserrat 11-18-2007, 05:06 PM I wouldn't worry too much about the math portion of G-chem. It's mainly approximations (log and etc), and setting up an equation that's comparable to one of the answers (not all of the answer choices are numerical answers - ie. for Pv=nRT, you'll have to answer for pressure, and it will be in the form nRT/V). For QR, there are better people out there to answer this question than me. I'm slower in math, and I just had to practice over and over again for speed. sddat 11-18-2007, 05:10 PM ohhh yeah that makes sense. In the Gen Chem section in my DAT study book it seemed like they were interested in, "how would you execute this problem.." vs. "what's the right answer..." crrees 11-28-2007, 11:32 AM your brain is the only calculator you can use.
