Well, I guess second time around was a charm...I took it today (11/19/07) and here are the results:
PAT 18 63.7%
QR 19 81.9%
RC 21 80.2%:)
Bio 21 90.4%:)
GC 22 88.7%:)
OC 27 98.2%:)
TS 23 97.7%:)
AA 22 95.4%:)
Last time:
PAT 17
QR 18
RC 16
Bio 23
GC 19
OC 23
TS 21
AA 20
So here's the breakdown:
PAT- Only improved a little bit here, was hoping to get in the 20's here but with the rest of the scores I dont really think that I can complain. I ran out of time a little bit here so thats probably what really got me in trouble here. Liked CRACK THE PAT, thought it helped more than my scores really show.
QR- Again, ran outta time here. I got the first few questions really quickly and really just took that as my que to relax a little bit. I think it was tough but not really insane. If I didn't rest on my laurels too much I really think I could have killed this section. Again, definitely not complaining here. Liked purplemath, barrons, destroyer.
RC- This section was really crazy and theres no other answer to how I got this score other than G-d really guided my hand to the right answer on many occasions. The first and third passages were pretty easy but I thought I got rocked on the second one..I guess not though. There were some real curve balls here like the two statements that you have to tell them if both are right, wrong, first right second wrong, etc. This really stunk bc its like them putting two questions into one-as if we werent already rediculously pressed for time!!! I used the search method this time instead of the mapping technique.
Bio- Went down here a little bit but Im not gonna complain 21 is still solid. I cannot tell you enough how much the Destroyer helped me on this section. It was huge, just like it was last time! Really on the money. Make sure you know why each question is right and why its wrong. Also cliffs bio was really solid. You know both of these you should be pretty good...at least you were on my exam. I forgot a few things here and there that I def recalled reading places but its all good. There were a lot of wierd questions that really made me think...it was definitely not just spitback...make sure you can combine concepts from all over.
GC- Thought it was a little tricky here and there. Again no more spitback days make sure you know your concepts and you can apply them to questions that you will never have seen before. Used my textbook from GC, I think Teitz and Steichel(sometihng like that) and again Destroyer was huge. Definitely felt comfortable after really pounding the destroyer hard. Know your concepts and you should be alrite. FYI there were more calculations than last time so don't just rely on the old posts saying that you don't need to know how to calculations bc its all setups. If you can move at good speed with the destroyer calculations you should be fine.
OC- I thought this section was really straightfoward...know your rxns and your basic OC concepts. If you can do Destroyer comfortably than you should not have any problems here. FYI there was def an error or two on this section in the exam, its rediculous that after all of the money that we invest in this exam that they can't proofread it well.
In summation I'm really happy with my scores and my improvement in all of the sections except bio. Make sure you know your stuff before you take the exam bc its really changed a lot. There are a lot of concepts that you need to apply to reason out the right answer. Again, if you can glide through the destroyer without any big problems you should be really fine. Just sit and think-what are they asking me?
I know its really late for this cycle but it wont bother me to take off next yr.
Good luck to everyone and thanks everyone on the board that offered their support and help:D
