I’m in the process of researching graduate schools for OT. I’d like to conserve my tuition costs by attending a public university in California. While researching OT programs through the AOTA web site, I noticed that there are only two public universities offering an MS in OT—San Jose State and CSU Dominguez Hills. I’ve heard positive things about San Jose State, but I’d like to know if someone has any comments to share about CSU Dominguez Hills. Thanks!

i had the same reservations about applying to private schools also. i've been emailing a CSUDH OT alumnus and i've posted her response on my OT blog. hope this helps:

Hi. I'm also looking into masters programs for OT, especially Cal State DH and I tried to go on the "hearts-hands" blog spot, but couldn't read it. Could you give me some info on it if possible?

Thankyou:)

The program at CSUDH offers info sessions every month on campus, so if you are close I would advise you to pay them a visit. I went to one of them with my gf and they give you all the information you need.
