You can contact them and ask... t-funk 01-01-2008, 09:42 PM I would just like to add that I tried to use this service. It took several months for someone to get back to me. After someone did contact me, they said they would find someone for me to shadow, but never contacted me again. I have heard others say the same thing on these forums. I would not use this service only to wait for months and hear nothing. Just start contacting doctors on your own. Less than one day! And i filled out the info on a holiday too. Maybe you just had some bad luck? Or maybe i just got reaaally lucky. but the turn around rate was very quick for me. t-funk 01-02-2008, 10:28 AM Wow, that's great. It may have to do with my location in Nebraska bc there are barely any DOs around here. Or maybe people complained and they fixed things. Anyway, I'm glad to hear that they got in touch with you. Porco Rosso 01-02-2008, 11:42 AM it would be alot easier to contact the state's osteopathic association for directory of physicians in your area. I basically went online to state association's website. Looked at the physicians in the leardership position that happened to be in my area and contacted him. I started shadowing a week later on top of med students that does preceptorship with him. So, make an extra effort and it will shorten the time span. Lamborghini1315 01-02-2008, 02:20 PM This is probably not the smartest thing to do but living in NY i did not have a hard time trying to find DO's. But the hardest part was to track them down..it took me months before i could get in touch. Anyways, i called bunch of hospitals around my area and basically asked for practising DO's they were extremely helpful in terms of giving me names, numbers etc. Hospitals will also accept request such as an opportunity to sit in during didactics or shadow doctors...so take advantage! Biogirl804 01-02-2008, 04:27 PM Thanks everyone!! This helps a lot. :) |
