AmjedatKaplan 02-15-2008, 11:10 AM Is it possible to only purchase the kaplan online testing material without taking the kaplan online course or the full course? Hi IwishMD, The online testing material is integrated pretty fully into the online (and classroom) courses. What I mean is that when you're directed to take certain tests is driven mostly by your online syllabus. Your results, analysis and recommendations are driven by Smart Reports, another part of the course, and, of course, the actual remediation content (study review notes pages xyz, watch this lesson snippet online, read this workshop) is all part of the online program. As you can see, while it may be possible to break out and sell just the testing material (perhaps with our explanations), it doesn't necessarily give the best preparation experience. If you're looking for just pure tests, I suggest you check out the AAMC material (I assume you may have already). In addition, kaplan sells a well regarded book on these forums called MCAT Practice Tests (can be purchased here (http://store.kaptest.com/catalog/templates/product.jhtml?PRODID=kprod9781419551956&CATID=T00210001&rcid=T00210000)). Please don't hesitate to let us know should you have any questions at all. I know you update your tests. I have the old stuff from a friend who took the old paper stuff and was curious to see if there are any differences. like, the old physic subject tests have 40 questions. do the current ones have 40 questions still. thakerm 03-22-2008, 02:21 PM Dear Kaplan, I was wondering if there is a way to calculate a scaled score for any of the sectional tests offered? Furthermore, do the difficulty of sectional test increase as you take them? or are they all the same difficulty? Sincerely, MT GeorgianCMV 03-31-2008, 12:37 PM I was wondering the same thing. My VR scores for the Kaplan section tests are steadily decreasing with each subsequent test.... Can someone please weigh in? AmjedatKaplan 06-06-2008, 03:46 PM Dear Kaplan, I was wondering if there is a way to calculate a scaled score for any of the sectional tests offered? Furthermore, do the difficulty of sectional test increase as you take them? or are they all the same difficulty? Sincerely, MT Hi, Unfortunately there are no scaled score tables available for the section tests. This is for two reasons: 1. These tests are meant to provide you with pacing practice, and 2. Since 2007's tests reshuffle, these passages and questions have been together for only 18 months, we'd need at least another 6 months worth of data before we can look back and provide so real statistical basis to any scaled score chart we would provide. Sorry to be a downer, but we try to do things as well as possible, as we know you guys count on those scores quite a bit, and incorrect scores are way worse than no scores at all. tparker02020 09-19-2008, 12:58 PM Is it possible to only purchase the kaplan online testing material without taking the kaplan online course or the full course? I would look for someone whos trying to sell theirs. I have a friend who has already taken the Kaplan course and I could ask her. |
