My third year in college I had an incident in academic dishonesty for slight plagarism on a exp. design worth 3% of my grade in a neurolab. i received a zero on the assignment but I still got a B in the class.

do i need to admit to this in my application? and if so, am i screwed?

my gpa is a 3.1 and my MCAT is a 32

yes, you need to disclose this. you still have a shot at acceptance.

Not only do you "need" to disclose this incident, if you don't disclose it on your applications when they ask about any academic issues/incidents and they find out you failed to disclose the incident:
1. you could be kicked out of the medical school you gain acceptance to
2. you could be black-balled from further applications to any medical school in the US.

It would really really stink to get an acceptance just to be kicked out in your 3rd or 4th year of medical school for failure to disclose.

The ninth commandment says, "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor." I suppose a literal interpretation would mean you shouldn't lie about other people, but the Bible is full of other examples where people lied about themselves and were wrong for doing so. I would fess up, my friend, and give it to God. Was it plagiarism done with intent, and if so, why? Address what caused you to do it and make sure that fault is no longer in you or you'll end up committing this kind of failure again in your life, but whereas in college it amounts to a zero on a test, in the medical field it could amount to fines, revocation of licensure, and possible imprisonment.

My advice is take it to God. He won't let you down if you do. I promise you that.

Is the incident a part of your official academic file? If not, he forget about at and leave it alone. If it is part of your academic file, then med schools will see it and you will need to explain it.

Lol, yeah go and take it to god. Anyways, like others said, if it's not on record, don't share it. Out of sight, out of mind.

I believe on your application it asks you about this. If you do not answer this truthfully, you will be walking on pins and needles hoping that no one will ever find out. If you do get into medical school, do you think that this added stress will be good for you?

I would hope that in the case that if an Honor Code violation has been recorded that it would show up on your transcript with an "X" or what have you. If the school doesn't do that or if you have doubts you can always call up the school and find out.
