Okay so I'm planning to take the DAT in around summertime. The problem is I'm really scared of standarized testing. Everytime midterms have multiple choice tests I don't do that well. My question is... how difficult is the DAT if you prepare enough of time? I'm planning to put in a good 3 solid months of studying. Is the test itself relatively straight forward? Or do they do lots of trick questions? I'm planning to take the Kaplan class around June, and plan to use the DAT destroyer. Any input would be great.

join a club. I will also be taking the test in late august. I think consistency is the key to nail the test. I will try to study for the test 5 to 6 hours a day for the spring quarter and the month before the test i will hit it hard like real hard. I think i will stop socializing whatsoever: no contacts with friends, or even family, no tv, no movie...
Another thing is keep practicing the practice Kaplan test and practicing in the computer no on the paper. That what i will do to keep me in the mode for preparing the multiple chose exam
Another thing that could keep you motivate is give yourself a big prize if you score well on DAT. I will be getting a LV that i always dream about or maybe a Shih tzu.
Good luck to you

You may have said this for effect, but part of every study plan should include staying healthy. Humans are social animals and i don't suggest a month of Tom Hanks in Castaway status.

As for multiple choice, I feel the same way, but after thousands of practice questions I think we'll catch on?

I feel the same. MC intimidates me more than any 10 page open-ended exam.
