i'll be starting medical school next year, and i just had a question on residency matching: what are the selection criteria? i know usmle step 1 is important, but what about med school grades, what medical school attended, etc? thanks a lot for your input

Yup, definitely depends on your specialty of interest. GOod grades. Decent boards, and good performance on your clerkships all helps! Also doing a rotation at your fav insitution can help!
