Hey everyone,

I have a copy of the MSAR, so I have an idea which schools are more expensive tuition and which give financial aid. I just need more details as MSAR doesn't give much info.

I do not have a US citizenship or permanent residency.

29Q, high 3.7ish GPA

I heard U of Connecticut will make internationals pay international fees for the first year, and then resident tuition for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th yrs.

Any other schools have similar breaks?

Thanks, Doctaroo

To be honest with you, I think you probably have a better shot getting into a school in Canada. American schools have a preference towards American students and unless your stats are well above the admissions averages of the school I don't think your chances are very good.

Going to grad school and applying to UofOttawa, Mac or UofT would probably be the best way to go for you.

But in terms of your question, I found this particularly useful.

Also try using the princeton review website.

Blah, there was a good list on premed101, but the bloody forum exceeded its bandwidth and is down. Should be back early June, I imagine, when a new month gets rolling.

That being said, give me a PM in a few days here or there and I'll link you to the post.

95% of medical school applicants have no money, so you arent alone, and with average stats I dont think you should be choosey.

OP, what's your MCAT breakdown? That alone will determine which schools in Canada you can apply to.

this thread is more appropriate for the "what are my chances?" subforum. all questions regarding one's personal chances or school choices should now be posted there. moving.

I have a 9 9 11 Q (vr/phy/bio).

I might be able to get 1 or 2 interviews in Canada, but not more than that. I've already tried.

Thanks for all the help everyone!

I think if you're trying for the US your situation must be desperate enough that you have to be willing to look past the money. Unless you're planning on attending Harvard, Dartmouth, Case Western or Washington University (edit: according to the premed wiki) you're not really going to get that much help in terms of aid. Even if you do get in-state tuition somewhere, you're still either going to need an American relative to co-sign your student loan, or take out an enormous LoC...

Any reason you can't retake your MCAT? At least so you make the cutoffs in Canada?
