I am currently on the High wait-list...I have been since October. I am going crazy waiting to hear if I am going to start in August! I check my e-mail twice a day!! :eek::eek:

did you guys receive a letter from dr. Haight stating that they are just looking into the waitlist, how he felt uncomfortable answering detail questions about individual's file, and how he made a mistake when he gave people lots of info that made them think they're entitled to a spot in this year class? I just received that letter in the mail the other day. so weird

Most people who get wait listed usually applied late, took the mcat late or had bad interviews. It is unlikely to find out if you are competitive enough by their stats.

If you get an interview, it does show that the school thinks you have what it takes to be accepted with your stats to get in, or the school wouldn't give you an interview if didn't think that. Schools generally don't throw around interviews for nothing.

yeah like the previous poster said, I applied really really late. I think mine was the last application sent in. I was one of the last interviewers.

I got the same letter and am STILL on waitlist, but need to take myself off because I've already sent in $$ to Touro NV.
I was hanging on the waitlist at CA because of the wonderful research that comes out of that school, but my call to them is imminent.

I would think the waitlist should have moved a little faster, but I was told that the offices are being moved around. Once they settle down, things should move along. Waitlisters, hang in there!

wow if that is the reason why, people are not getting accepted of the wait list, i bet there are going to be some angry waitlisters :laugh:

I just saw someone got acceptance into TUCOM MI yesterday in SDN. I hope I hear my good news soon..... it has been a long long long long waiting. let's be hopeful:)

Somebody i know was wait listed last year and she pretty much received the exact same letter from Haight about the wait list. I think this happens every year when people assume they are going to get in for sure. I wonder how many people are waitlisted? Is it aroud 10-20 or way more? Good luck to everyone :)

I decided to go to the new DO school opening in Washington State. It was a tough decision to make though...But it was a combination of tuition + living cost, small class size, and weather that won me over.

I got in!!!!!! They just called me and offered me a seat for the class of 2012. It's going to be crazy changing my plans, but totally worth it. It goes to show you prayer and patients works.

I had a phone call from them yesterday. I know that they are working on the last minutes offers via phone calls, so make sure you have your phone on with you at all time. admission people said at the last minutes offer, they are not going to email you or try calling you again, if you did not pick up the call... good luck.

I once saw a previous years post on SDN regarding touro MI wait list. it went like this:one applicant missed a phone call from Touro and called back within few minutes but the seat was already offered to the person who was next in the list. I asked admission if this can be true and they said it is true. SO, I think it is safe to think that you can not miss any call.

one more thing, have you contacted admission people via email to let them know that you really want to join touro?

Dr.Haight is pretty quick and direct about what is going on, and if you have not done that, you should write email.

I am currently in Japan, visiting my family. I wish I was there to get to know my fellow med students...well, I will catch up with everyone on the orientation date and good two years for sure after that!!!

Hi to all my future classmates!! I got the call yesterday around 3:30 pm from Steve Davis and was offered a spot in this year's class!! I have been a High Alternate since October 2nd!! I am ecstatic to say the least, but since I live in the valley I have four days to find a new apartment, buy new laptop/printer, apply for school loans, actually move, etc. I have so much to do it is not even funny!!!! I just want to get settled so after the first week of orientation I can just focus on studying like mad!!

Can't wait to see all my classmates Monday morning at 7:30 am!!!

Hi. According to my paperwork in the orientation packet, orientation starts 7:30 am on Monday and then 8:00am on Tuesday and Wednesday. Have you read or heard differently? I don't want to be late for my first day.

Hi guys,

I was a high alternate and was just accepted last Wednesday. Steven Davis FedEx'd me the official acceptance letter I had to sign, deposit form, and some papers about books and orientation. There are just a few sentences about orientation including times...Monday 7:30 am-5 pm, Tuesday and Wednesday 8:00 am-5 pm. Did you guys receive an e-mail stating it starts at 7 am on Monday? If so, I guess I will just be there at 7 am. Thanks.
