Hey all,
Quick question...
I will be rewriting my MCAT on Aug 15th. I'm hoping to extend my access to the online syllabus till then.
I know that I can use my HSG to extend it indefinitely. However, my only concern is that I missed 2 classes. I know that completing all the required work is a must, and I will do that by the expiration date.
More importantly, I'm just concerned about those missed classes..
Any ideas how they deal with that?
Thanks!

Anything you get by calling 1-800-KAPTEST to ask them will be more reliable than something posted here by a stranger.

I'm trying to get mine extended as well. (8/7/08 retake)
I called the number and got cut off after 20 minutes on hold. I guess I'll try again later.

pretty sure you get to miss a maximum of 2 classes, which need to be made up. there should be a link called "missed a class? find a make up" or something on your "my page".
good luck

I just extended my class last week. You are able to cover two missed classes by doing the online sessions, but the kaplan director where I go to school asked me to tell him when I did it because they cannot tell whether you have completed them or not. So as long as you have missed two or less classes and have completed all your required assignments you can extend the class at no charge.

you can actually make up unlimited number of classes by attending the live classes. or if you prefer, make up 2 with online sessions.
You should contact the center first to make sure!!
good luck!!

I missed about four classes (even after making up two online) and called them up to extend it cuz I hated going to the classes as it was useless. Their online material is GOLD and you definitely want all of it for practice! So I gave it a shot by calling them and they extended it for two more months without even asking anything! Was more easy than I thought it was going to be :) So give it a try by calling them first and if you missed only two, then just make it up online!

While I don't believe it is an official policy, it is my understanding that Kaplan centers have been advised to allow students to extend access to their online syllabus for 30 days regardless of whether or not the student qualifies for their Higher Score Guarantee (HSG). This way if a student needs to push back their Test Date a few weeks it is no big deal. However, if you're making a big change to your Test Date (e.g. Jan to May), then you'll need to be in compliance with the HSG to get it extended for free.
