guys how do you answer this.

The angle face to 20 is 47degree : (90-43=47)

tan 47=(20/Y)
you can find Y just you have to know tan 47

so you would say the answer is 20 Tan 47?

No acually answer is 20/tan47

The answer could be :
Y = 20 * tan 43 or Y = 20/tan47

Can we assume that the angle on top is also 90 degrees? In other words, how do you know that the acute angle up there is 47? There's nothing to suggest that the vertical line (Y) and the horizontal line on top make a right angle.

Otherwise the answer is [20 tan (43)] or [20 / tan(47)].

This problem is unrealistic, because there would be a given list of answer choices. Give us the choices, and the answer would be solved in 5 second flat.

20*tan(43) and 20/tan(47) are the same. Unless an answer choice says 'cannot be determined' the answer would be near 18.65.
