I dunno...articles like this come out all the time for a whole host of diseases. In fact, there ARE a lot of experimental therapies for hard-hitting diseases out there, but they're experimental for a reason. The biggest pitfalls for these therapies come in human trials, and if this one is anything like the others it will fail too. Articles like these are often a combination of overexcited journalism and unfamiliarity with the scientific community.

I do most of my work in stroke, and in fact there are over 1,026 recorded "cures" for stroke (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16453316), but very few of them really work practically in humans.

Anyway, don't give up on going into oncology just yet.

The article never says "all cancers are cured". The article never even specifies which type of malignant neoplasm was examined during the experiment.

This really isn't a "new" idea we've been theorizing and studying activated killer T cells activated against different antigens for years against a variety of things. Don't know how many made it to human trials but it's an old idea.

Very interesting, thanks for posting that.

Here's another treatment that's been developing, using radio waves and nanoparticles:

And here's one that's already gone into human trials (with success), also using nanoparticles:

sorry i can't bear to read this. maybe when some more credible evidence comes out from more common sources. i just can't put myself through the pain after reading the headline. i know i'll just end up feeling misled and pissed off.
