You’re not bored. You have a ton of things to do, pushing to get the best grades you can, keeping track of which clubs meet on which days, trying to figure out how you can pay for the gas that your parents keep complaining about, and planning your future. You’ve found your way here and are enjoying discussing this journey with others who are just as enthusiastic, when up pops a blob of slimy green pond scum! It’s a TROLL, pulling himself out from hiding in his mucky water. He’s only here to annoy you, but YOU have the upper hand.
Trolls feed on attention. When they don’t get that attention, they get frustrated and annoyed, starve, and shrivel up into nothing. If their brain cases weren’t so empty to start with, they’d be doing something more interesting. We’ve provided you with a fantastic way to starve them and make the rest of them shrivel quickly like their brains. It’s called the IGNORE button. This is how it works:
o Find the user that you don't want to hear from, and click on the user's name.
o Click on View public profile
o Click on User Lists (in the bar directly beneath the name and status)
o Click on Add User X to your Ignore List
o Reload the page you were originally viewing
o Voila! No more slimy pond scum. :meanie:(It's as if their posts never existed.)
Also, this button is your friend http://img.studentdoctor.net/images/buttons/report.gif!
Trolls are considered "problematic". If you think you see one, just press that http://img.studentdoctor.net/images/buttons/report.gif button; type, “Troll?” into the message box; and hit Send Report.
All reported posts are viewed for consideration, whereas in-thread complaints may be overlooked. Do not use the Report button for frivolous complaining, but if you feel strongly justified in your belief that a poster is TROLLING, please alert the Moderators by reporting.
Help us to help you! Together we can make sure that these trolls have short and futile lives! :luck:
