Welcome to SDN's High School forum.

You might have noticed the hSDN Icons http://img.studentdoctor.net/sdnaltui/ui_aspire.gif some members have. These icons indicate that the member has joined the hSDN User-group.

The hSDN User-Group is limited to High-School Students and SDN Staffers.

To join the hSDN Usergroup, you must do the following:

go to the Group Memberships (http://forums.studentdoctor.net/profile.php?do=editusergroups) link under the My Account tab up top. (clicking the link above will take you there)

Locate "hSDN Member" and select Join Group.

Then click the Join Group button at the bottom.

You will be asked to provide a reason why you are requesting to join. Do not leave this blank.

Your request will be reviewed by a moderator and you will be granted membership. You may be contacted if the moderator needs more information.

Once you are an hSDN Member, you will have access to the "Better than Facebook" forum (hSDN Social Forum).

Notes (9/1/08):
- The Aspire forum has been renamed High School SDN (hSDN)
- The social forum (previously the Clubhouse) has been renamed "Better Than Facebook" by popular vote of the members

I'll leave this open so we may troubleshoot any issues users have joining the group.

Oh, if you request membership and you don't get a yay or nay notification in a reasonable amount of time (24 hours). Feel free to post in this thread that you've requested it... Sometimes we forget to check to see if there's anyone waiting to be approved. :o

Sweet avatar. What is a valid reason for joining the aspire club. What does the aspire club do??

the clubhouse (for lack of a better name) is the social forum for Aspire members.

It's the place for HS students to discuss non-school related issues.

Joining the Aspire usergroup also identifies you as a HS student (unless you're part of the SDN Aspire staff).

At the moment, those are the only reasons to join the aspire usergroup. All other SDN members are free to participate in the other aspire forums.

are students who just graduated highschool allowed to join? or is there another place for new college students or would the normal pre-allo or osteo be it?

that's sort of a gray area... you're more than welcome to look at the aspire forums for advice, but I'd say you'd probably want to start using the normal Pre-Allo and Pre-Osteo forums.

The Aspire usergroup really only identifies current HS students and grants access to the social forum, for that purpose you'd probably be fine with the All Student's forum or one of the other non-academic forums on SDN.

Also, don't forget to join the face book group, even though I did not create this.
