I'm doing my undergrad in Canada and my school doesn't offer a specific Communication Disorders major. I've chosen the Honours Life Science major, which is extremely general and allows you to pick any course you want.

Is a specific major important for grad school admissions? I thought grad schools mainly looked for GPA, GRE, pre-requisite courses, letters of rec and personal statements. Do they also look at the major you took?

Do grad schools give you an opportunity to catch up with prerequisite courses if you haven't completed all of them?

Any help is much appreciated.

Most school require pre-reqs. It usually consists of about 8 classes.

Dear AspiringAuD,
Some schools accept students from all different majors. They may have a condensed course or two in the few weeks prior to the start of the semester as well as on-line courses that can be taken while in the program.
I would contact some of the schools and see what they have to say regarding pre-requisite courses. Do not let this deter you at all. Many schools are willing to work with you.
I hope this helps!
