I have a question regarding Friedel crafts alkylation. does rearrangement occur?

if your adding a straight chain alkane, if you have more than two methyl groups rearrangement will occur

Yup but thats why you can do a friedel-acylation craft followed by reduction to get your straight chain on without rearrangement.

I believe destroyer says that if your alkane is more than 3 carbons long, than it will rearrange to form the most stable carbocation.
