Hello there...

thanks for reading this.

i have some extenuating family circumstances that prevented me from applying for JIs in IM in the coming months. As it turns out, I will actually be taking clerkships this coming year.

Unfortunately, all of the IM JIs at my home institution at taken for months. I want to take the JI early to determine if IM is the right field for me.

I was thinking about taking the JI at a community program that is affiliated with an academic center.

Is taking a JI at a community hospital looked down upon by clerkship directors?

thanks!

sorry for my stupidity, but what is JI?

it took me way too much time to realize that:
JI = junior internship = sub-I = acting internship = AI

oh wow. i've never heard of JI or AI before. we do have sub-I at my school.

i think we call the junior internship a clerkship over here. but good to know. thanks.
