Why can I suddenly not view articles on the NEJM website? Every time I try to click on an article, it asks for a username and password. Is anyone else having this problem? I have always gone through my university's website and have full access.

Are you using one of the university computers? If you are, you should probably ask your school's library help desk, as they usually manage the journal subsrciptions.

I just checked and it seems to be working for me. Hence, there might be a problem with the website recognizing your subscription.

No, is that something I should be using? I have always just used internet explorer and followed the links through the university website.

If you can't get in through your university, you can use NEJM's 21 day free trial for an online subscription.

Your univeristy has a subscription that allows access from all computers on campus. It's IP restricted, meaning that the NEJM website looks at your IP address and decides whether you've paid (like your univeristy) or not (like you).

If you access the internet via your university, either by dialing into your univeristy's modem bank (assuming they still have those...) or by using a VPN, you'll find the access works.

I've been experiencing this lately as well. Usually, as long as I log into my university's site with my ID/password, I can access articles on NEJM, JAMA, etc. due to my school having a subscription. I never needed to use only a school computer; I've used my laptop at home many times to find and read articles.

Also, it seems like I'm only having trouble with NEJM. I'm at home now (about 200 miles from school) and I can access journal articles in pretty much all other medical journals (Neurosurgery, Annals of Emergency Medicine, etc.) but NEJM seems to be the only one that asks for a username and password, something it never did before. So I'm not sure what exactly is going on.
