So, I cant believe its finally over! I wrote a very long thread last night with a full breakdown but it didnt submit and I dont feel like writing all that again. So, ill keep it short this time!
First, off this is my first DAt and I have been terrified of doing bad on it for over a year! I initially planned on applying last cycle but i never took the test so i couldnt! best decision i have made! If you dont feel 100% confident in your ability then i say put it off , it will only help if you are honest with yourself! I studied all last summer using destroyer ! Life saver! what else can i say?!A must have!! i began studying again this summer however, this time i took it much easier! I felt more confident in my ability and only studied like ~5 hrs/day vs last summer ~10hrs./day . I took scheduled practice test each week towards the end and this helped me most! I just recieved an invitation to interview last week so i was very excited about that and I felt a lot better about my position! Plus this took off a lot of the pressure before my DAt! I knew no matter what I would still have an interview in Sept!!
So, study materials: I used them all ! I did extensive research on the test and used most sources available! Even MCAt stuff! Great help and confidence booster! they were easier than the DAt stuff i thought! Exam krackers ,priceton review ,DESTrOYER ,&kaplan I hated kaplan! there were so many mistakes and the questions were NOTHING like the real DAt! I hate KAplan!! It totally sucked ! I cringed every time my friends would bring me a kaplan question!! Anyway enough bashing! lol! I have always been a fan of destroyer but kinda scheptical.. but it is FOR rEAL!! Know it!!back and forth!! You will destroy if you do! So here it is:
Breakdown: Bio- Totally random and much different than i thought but then again... it just what i expected.. if thaat makes any sense! totally random!! nothing that i expected to be there! No biochem, no physiology, no body systems , no hormones.. none of that stuff that you KNOW WILL be on the test!! A lot of genetics and genetic engineering and cloning and cell biology! Histology slide! a few plant questions, just very random! LOTS OF PRIMITAVE EARTH and atm. stuff ! Overall not too bad though.
Gen CHem: WAY easier than I ever expected!! a few calc. like 8 . i didnt need to know many OF the formulas that i had been learning all year, but i did need to know what some of them ment! if you knew that then the questions were cake!! Still wanna know what i missed!
Orgo: OMG Total JOKE!! Laughable!! way easier than any other section on the test!! If you honestly understand basic concepts then you will dominate! I will say destroyer is a must have !! Ill just leave it at that!! :)
I thought like 25 ? in i was going to get a perfect orgo score I was literally laughing at the questions !!! so easy but tjhere were like one or 2 i wasnt sure of but i made good guesses ( i think)!
PAt: nightmare seriously! I really prepared for this section! I used topscore achiever and crack!! Very similar to crack!! The highest i got on crack was an 18 (last saturday) abd would have been happy with an 18 but... i was rocking it So much easier than crack! then during the angles section my mouse quit working but the clock sure didnt! However I stayed completely calm and gave it a minute! nothing happened and i lost like 1.5 min. I askwed the lady to come and she just powers off my computer!! Still i stayed calm!! I knew i would get it back at the same question! It powered up like five minutes later and i had lost like 2 min. but still i felt good about it! Then 5 minlater the image goes black and I see my clock still ticking away!! I seriously believe they do this on purpose to throw certain people off theior game!! If this happens to you just stay calm!! It went away 2 minutes later and i had lost 4 minutes on my test! I was on number 90 just about to pull the trigger on the ONLY POSSIBLE ANSWER and the time ran out! Oh i wanted those 4 minutes back so bad but what can you do ? protest and retake ... no thanks!!:laugh:
RC: two words.. from hell!! OMG the first ethics passage was a beast 30+ paragraphs and i couldnt find any answers! I was geting dominated!! It sucked! the other 2 werent as bad but still sucked! I never got less than a 19 on reading practice! but i sure did on the real thing!
Math: I knew this would be my worst section and only wanted a 15! thats what i got!:laugh:

THEre it is and i hope this helps helps someone! you have to beware of what you read on this site b/c most stuff you read is BS! lots of truth on here ..but its hard to shuffle through all the BS! I suggest you stay away from here a week before your test! God Luck to all futere testers!
