i agree with collegeconfidential.com

but it can be sort of a depressant. some of those kids are really 'gifted' and u sometimes feel like an idiot and a slacker.

i would bet, from reading through a lot of fourm posts, that around 50-60 percent of those really special applicants are only parents wanting to feel better about themselves and their kids... those 50 hours of diabetes research equates to maybe a class project or something. stated class rank = actual class rank - a couple, etc.

parents seem to be in the majority at cc... thats why i like it here where the posters are almost always students who are genuinely interested in the questions they are asking (not saying they dont pad their stats a bit though lol)

Many of the medical websites will be above the level of a high school/college student. However, I know that some of you will want to read them anyway. :) So, here is my list:

The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM)
Medscape (WebMD site for health care professionals)
Emedicine (WebMD site for health care professionals)
The Student Doctor Network
NYTimes.com (Staying up-to-date on current events is very important and the earlier you can start, the better off you will be in the long run, as current events questions have popped up in medical school interviews.)
