I was wondering if there is ever a D.O. student that went or apply to the IM residency program at The University of Arizona Medical Center? Any success story? I was looking at their website, they seem to take alot of IMG but no DOs.
Any comment?
BTW AZ is full of DOs with 2 osteopathic med schools.

Wow there are a lot of posts on here from DO's asking if certain IM allopathic programs would take them. I think you don't really know unless you try. I mean, people seem to have this idea that IM is so hard to get in to and it really isn't. There are a lot of intern spots per year vs. some other specialties. A lot of times, people end up getting one of their top 3 picks...it's not just the programs who are picking, it's YOU as well. If you are really interested in the school and you don't think they've ever taken someone from your school, then consider rotating there as a visiting student. If you don't want to do a subI there, just try to rotate on a consult service, and then work really hard and be really really nice to everyone, and ask to talk with the program director while you are there, and tell him/her that you really want to go to this program. I'll bet that would work if you had a decent 3rd year of med school and did OK on your USMLE's.
