hEY FIRST OF ALL THIS FORUM IS DEFINETLY a life saver. If you dont know I took the test for the third time today and boy am I relieved. I will post my scores in a sec. I just wantto give all you guys who may have not done so well on your first time that it can be done, I studied my ass off for the last four months and put myself through bootcamp. I woke up every morning at 9 and studied. The reason is that I was so determined to get an 18 that it really motivated me when i saw the 15aa the first time i took it and a 16aa the second time i took it. so her are my scores
perceptual ability 19 75.8%
Quantitative reasoning 17 65.7%
reading comprehension 18 44%
Biology 16 35.7%
General chemistry 18 61.7%
Organic chemistry 19 73.1
total science 18 63.8%
acedemic average 18 64.2%
I first off want to tell you that these may not be the best scores, but i deserved each and every point because i really studied. my advice would be to really understand the information instead of just reading it and saying that im done with that chapter. I learned the hard way. Thgis time around i kept reading everything until i understood it and thats what i think the biggest thing that helped me improve.
BIOLOGY- i REALLY THOUGHT I KILLED THIS SECTION. i WOULD SAY REVIEW ALL THE LIST FROM THE ADA WEBSITE ON SUBTOPICS. the bio section was basic simple questions for the mostpart, but there were those question which i pondered for like 3 minutes because it was down to two choice. You know what i mean, i sat there saying to myself im not gonna get this free be weong. I would say that this section does cover all the bases, but again you have to understand the basics and trully know why something happens and not just memorize. CLIFFS AP bio was a great book and yes the dat destroyer was really good, im not gonna praise the book but it did in this section.
Chemistry- very very very basic questions, the DESTROYER WAS WAY WAY TOOOOOOOO IN DEPTH. i WOULD SAY GO ONCE AGAIN TO THE ADA WEBSITE AND JUST COVER THOSE TOPICS IN DEPTH AND YOU SHOULD BE FINE. mostly just setting up the quations and they had a bit of questions on electronegativities amd which has the highest bp and mp. BIGG be able to distinguish and really know melting point, im good at bp but this threw me off.
Organic chemistry- what could i say, i had my friend in school teach me it from the basics and understand it. I think that if your completely lost in this section, you should ask a friend to break it down to you in easy terms, because they give it to you short and sweet. First two times went over notes but just memorize and did not understand the basics, now i got it. understand o/p and meta directors, bp and mo and just really go over the basics. the destroyer was good but way to indepth. ROADMAPS ARE THE **** 4 REAL
READING COMPREHENSION- i JUST GOT REALLY GOOD TOPICS and went into this section calm and composed and it really helped. One thing i did that helped a lil is look at the first two qestions and them skim so that i could at least search for those ans.
Math- crazy i usually get 18 and 19 but this test was all word questions and trig and had maybe like 6-7 gimmes thats all. enough said, im happy i pulled out a 17
All in all i am really relieved that im done and feel reall proud that all my hard work paid off. Need your opinion, I have a 3.36 cumulative gpa and a 3.09 science and bcp, I have over 350 volunteering hours at beaumont hospital, am a certified emergency medical technition, have shadowed my dentist for over 100 hours, and am in my pre-dental honor society and bio and chem club. I have also been published. I graduated from university of detroit mercy and am now enrolled in a masters program at wayne state. please give me some info on my chances, i applied to u of d mercy, michigan, pits, creigton, temple, arixona, pacific, maryland, louiseville, new jersey, new york and boston.Man i want to give a shout out to all the people who helped me when i was really down and gave me some really good advice even when they didnt, thanks.
