I've heard many threads about Schaum's going too in depth into biology, but I was wondering if there is anything that Schaum's distinctly misses that is found on the DAT?

i LOVE schaum's..yes it does go into a lot more depth than other books (Kaplan, or AP CLIFFS) but it's not meant as a specific study guide for the DAT.. however, i think it's better to be overprepared than under.... if u have time (2-3 months) then use schaum's! i don't think it leaves anythign out.

So I went through Cliffs and Shaums...in some areas, shaums went into extreme detail (as in explaining experiments of nonsense) and sometimes I found it to skip important concepts. I haven't taken the DAT yet so I don't know what the right amount of detail is, but I think Shaums is lacking in many areas (can't rememember them). Hope this helps.
I think Campbells is the only book that is comprehensive, everything else is simply not enough.

Alright, I probably won't be taking my DAT til next spring so I have plenty of time. I have been reading Schaum's to keep me in the studious mode over summer and I think I might end up reading a chapter or 2 of Campbells a night until the exam if I have time.

It definitely doesn't talk about Frap crap and some conceptual cloning questions.......But it may be possible that I missed that while going through Schaum's..!! It is indeed boring ..!!
