My younger sister is experiencing double vision in her right eye. It's been going on for a few months now. I don't believe she has had any physical injuries or anything.

According to her, the double vision just came on. Before the double vision, her vision was 20/20.

Can someone give me some ideas as to what the problem might be??
Hopefully, she will go to the eyedoc soon, but I will appreciate it if an eyedoc here (OD OR MD):D will give me some ideas as to what's causing double vision based on your experience in practice.
Thanks.

Need more detail.

Diplopia in one eye is rare without a history of trauma or corneal disease.

Common things being common I would suspect it is a decompensated strabismus.

Best of luck.

Need a little more info.

How old is your sister? Is the double vision with the one eye open or with both eyes open (monocular vs binocular diplopia)? Was it sudden onset? Is the double vision there all the time or does it come and go? Is the double vision worse at any particular time of day? Does she have a noticeable droopy eyelid too?
