I am starting Diagnostic Radiology this July and I am looking into lead aprons. I have worn the standard 'heavier' versions on rotations which haven't caused any problems but then again, I wasn't doing the procedures.

I am looking into getting a LIghtweight Lead Apron. Any recommendations on the type that I should get? (e.g. Surgical Drop off, Wide Belt Apron)

Any recommendations?

I don't know anything about aprons, but my new Apex Plus irons are amazing! ;)

Having just started playing golf, I opted for the APEX Edge. If I had to do it over again, I would have bought the Apex Edge Pros. Check out www.rockbottomgolf.com .

I want to do rads, but Im scared of occupaitnal exposure
Diagnostic guys ive talked to say that onyl hte patient is exposed and they arent in the rooms with the CT/MRI/Xray exposures
I though only IV had to do procedures with aprons (that dont protect eyes, hands, ...)
So how much time as a resident do you spend in this exposed environment with aprons doing procedures?
Arent you guys scared of this, radiation is a deadly carcinogen, isnt this a reason to avoid the field?
