Four flights in one day. Eighty degrees. Palm trees. Snow. Twelve hours of traveling. Two states. One book read. Seventy pharmacy students. Today I visited the beautiful University of Arizona campus, which, contrary to popular belief, is not in Phoenix. It's in Tucson, in case you ever plan on booking a ticket in advance like I did. Don't buy your ticket to Phoenix. It won't get you to Tucson. And no, Tucson is not a suburb of Phoenix. They're two hours apart![/URL] In my last act as a National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) national student officer, I visited the pharmacy school NCPA chapter at U of A. I gave a presentation at a chapter lunch meeting. This chapter is very impressive--their team won the Business Plan Competition this year. The members of the business plan team just returned from Puerto Rico last week, which was their prize for winning!

This is me with the U of A NCPA chapter president, Sunny, in front of the College of Pharmacy. I was so impressed by and jealous of the architecture at U of A. They plan for sunshine, with shadow-makers like shown below. Not for snow, with everything indoors, like at the U. It was really hard to leave Arizona, with the 80 degree weather and sunshine and return to Utah, where it is currently snowing!

I am so grateful for the opportunities I have had being a NCPA national student officer. NCPA has paid for me to travel 10 times in the past two years.
Four trips to Washington, D.C.
Three conventions: Las Vegas, Anaheim, Tampa Pharmacy school visits: University of Colorado, University of Utah, University of Southern Nevada, University of Montana, University of Arizona I am also very grateful for all of the scholarships NCPA has given me.
It has been such a blessing to help with expensive pharmacy school tuition.
J.C. and Rheba Cobb Memorial Scholarship
Presidential Scholarship
Partners in Pharmacy Scholarship
Involvement with NCPA was definitely one of the best choices I have made in pharmacy school. These are experiences that will last a lifetime. Thanks NCPA!!!
