I know that there are alot of threads regarding this issue- but aside from the presitige of one school versus the other- which school would offer a better chance of practicing in the US. What are the major pros and cons for either attending St.Georges or attending one of the 4 Irish Med Schools?
Thanks for any input!

That is a very hard question to give guidance on, since there's no one who knows Both caribbean And irish issues all that well. Sure, some of the carib schools may face stigma, but SGU is known for its good reputation. So are the Irish schools. I don't think either can be said to have a better chance at US residency - SGU has connections with some schools (I think), and the Irish schools do very well with US residencies as well (a couple also have connections). There could be a cost benefit- I've heard SGU is very expensive, while the Irish schools right now are around 20,000 (except for RCSI). But I have no idea how much tuition at SGU is. I think the issue is more personal - the Irish schools and ones like SGU can't really be compared. It's more a matter of your own board scores and cv, and electives/rotations, etc.
