Hey guys I took the DAT! and my scores are as follows

BIO 18
OCHEM 20
CHEM 17
RC 17
QR 17
PAT 19

AA 18 PAT 19

I was wondering whether I should retake the DAT? i really don't want to, but i don't know much things about the Scoreing and so on. I have called Arizona and Western and they told me that my DAT is okay. But, i am sure it would be better to retake it? It seems like everyone is getting at least on this forum, which is a lot higher than what my percentiles shows.

you should consider a retake depending on your other stats, like where you are applying, GPA, ect.

however, you should really retake. 17s are not competitive scores. in fact, they are below average for ALL test takers (not those accepted). the good news is that you are close to getting good scores!

I dont know why people in this forum keep saying retake. ollaolla if u have a good GPA, and good background (volunteering, shadowing, research etc) and if u apply to ur state school u should have a good chance.

i certainly agree with how the other stats play in, but with the way the acceptance difficulty continues to increase, I believe those scores are on the lower end.

the OP certainly has a chance at getting into DS, but if I were the OP i would retake to make my acceptance a certainty.

You are almost there! a little more work and you will be right there!

all ur other stats do play in but you can't afford to just be a decent applicant, you have to be amazing cuz you will be up against the best. So I would do a retake if i were you. you dont want to be saying coulda, shoulda, woulda. Good luck:)

If you can, try to retake. How did you study? and where do you plan on applying to?
