how long is family med residency?? is it 1 year after med school?

btw, how come there is no forum on preventive medicine residency. does anyone know anything about this new field?

family practice is 3 years of post-med school training.
check out fmignet.aafp.org to find out some student-relevant information about family practice.

don't know why there isn't a prevmed forum...that's up to the moderator gods.... though from my understanding, most people don't just train in preventive medicine...at least the few residencies i came across were combined IM/PrevMed, Peds/PrevMed or FP/Prevmed... programs were usually about 4-5 yrs, instead of 6.
