Hey everyone! So I'm takin my DATs this Wednesday and I'm kinda freaking out but at the same time I know that won't get me anywhere. This will be my second time taking it, I had a 19/19/16 the first time. I have been studying for a while now, and it just seems like I can't take this stuff anymore! I've used Cliffs AP bio, Kaplan, Destroyer, CDP and most importantly, SDN! Any tips for last minute studying or what I should be doing at this point beside cramming for bio?
I do feel pretty confident for the most part, but I'm just afraid I will come across those few questions that I will be totally stumped on and have no idea what to do. Any advice at this point, including anything abt particular subject matters will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

Hey dont worry. you will be fine
I took the test twice too:)
IMO things that i did and you shouldnt do
1) dont EVER lose your confidence on a question. skip it if you don know it and if its something u have no idea of dont even mark it , choose the reasonable answer and never go back
2) dont let a section disapoint you (specificaly RC ) it ruined my QR score.
3) do not go back and forth in science section it killed lots of my time. when ur done , ur done move forword and dont waste time on harder questions.
4) try to be ontime for each section, dont look at the timer till u finish ur section though. for me I put 20 min for bio and I started and i didnt look at the timer till I was done and it took only 17minutes both times.
5) take the break foo sure
6) eat something ( walnut is good :) )do some streching and stuff then go back fresh
7) get back home with your jaw-dropping result
u l be fine
good luck :thumbdown

Just know that there's so much you can study! Of course, no matter how much you study, you're still gonna be nervous, but just be confident. It seems like you know a lot and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Keep in mind that you will most likely encounter few challenging questions on the test. This is completely normal. The test is not designed so that everyone gets a 30. In fact, it's designed so that very few people get a perfect score. So, it's more than OK to miss few questions.

Also, realize that it's your second time taking the test. You have studied more and you're more experienced. So, there's really no reason for you to do worse than first time. Your scores WILL improve!

Your DAT score is only a part of your application. It doesn't define you as an individual. I've spoke with many addmission officers, and I know for a fact that they look beyond your DAT scores before giving you admission. So, just try to do your best on the test, so you'll get above average scores.

DO NOT study the day before the exam. You've studied enough and you know the material. Just give yourself a break. You deserve it.

Finally, just accept the fact that your entire future does not depend on your DAT scores. You can only try so hard, after that, just sit back, relax, and hope for the best.

Besides, I was in your shoes couple of weeks ago. I took the DAT twice myself. I can understand why you're stressed out! But I took the test for the second time and my scores improved from 19,20,19 to 22,22,20. I'm sure you'll end up seeing better results on your 2nd exam as well.

Best of luck to you:thumbup:

Yea! I didn't study a word. I suggest you do the same. Instead, try to relax!
