View Full Version : Kaplan FL2 Torongo 06-28-2009, 12:23 PM Did anyone else find kaplan FL 2 to be much easier than FL 1?? vandyam 06-28-2009, 02:12 PM I just took it yesterday (take FL3 Tues) and I found the PS (usually my weakest section) to be much easier than FL1. Though I attribute this to just studying a lot (I hope!) However, while my verbal score stayed the same I found this verbal MUCH harder. I mean, I still got a 10, but I didn't finish the whole thing and two of the passages could barely be comprehended IMO. I'd love to hear what you think of FL3 tho once you take it so I have someone elses opinion to compare my own performance to. Overall though I'd say if your score went up, it's not due to the test being "easier," but rather to you either having studied/getting used to the testing style, or it simply tested things that you weren't as weak in. Good job! Torongo 06-28-2009, 07:07 PM I just took it yesterday (take FL3 Tues) and I found the PS (usually my weakest section) to be much easier than FL1. Good job! Oooh, thanx for ur input! Well I did study and review FL1 so as u also suggested I will say tht i did good bcoz i studied, hehe. I will definately let u knw wht do i think of FL 3... I am planning on taking it on wednesday. By the way when r u taking the actual test and r u applying this year? I m desperately looking for a companion to study with.. vandyam 06-30-2009, 07:46 AM Ah, I could def be that person as I'm looking for one as well. I take the exam Aug 14th but I don't apply until next time (I'm an upcoming Junior - just taking the exam over the summer after my sophmore yr). What about you? Off to study some more and take another FL. I'm just hoping to see a score improvement! My last exam wasn't accurate b/c I had computer issues and it cut off the last 15 questions of physics (tho I still improved a pt higher than any previous score, so I'm happy at the possibility) PassionReborn 07-04-2009, 11:12 PM My score fell 5 points on FL2 from FL1. I am going to take Fl3 soon. FL2 just seemed to have stuff that just did not settle in.... It very well could be that I was taking Fl2 at a very odd hour in not so good state of the mind. However, I liked FL1 much better, gave me hope which got crucified by FL2. jikuty 07-05-2009, 10:57 PM I thought that FL2's PS section was really easy compared to FL1... I only got 1 question wrong in FL#2's PS, and 8-10 wrong in FL#1 PS. Interestingly, I thought that the bio section for FL#2 was harder than in FL#1, but I did a lot better on it for some reason... hqt331 07-14-2009, 08:12 PM Well I got a 40 on this one (FL 2) and a 32 on the last one...it didn't seem particularly easier, but the curve did MedicineNutt 07-15-2009, 09:28 AM the verbal & BS were harder than FL 1 FL 1 PS was definitely harder though These were my scores on one the first 2 FL 1 - 4V/8PS/9BS - 21 FL 2 - 7V/7PS/8BS - 22 definitely not great. I think for me...I make some stupid choices and get lost on passages. still need to get used to the MCAT format. Omni 07-15-2009, 07:32 PM the verbal & BS were harder than FL 1 FL 1 PS was definitely harder though These were my scores on one the first 2 FL 1 - 4V/8PS/9BS - 21 FL 2 - 7V/7PS/8BS - 22 definitely not great. I think for me...I make some stupid choices and get lost on passages. still need to get used to the MCAT format. As for me, FL1- 10PS 5VR 8BS FL2- 9PS 7VR 8BS The VR seemed WAY OUT of whack for FL2. Doodl3s 07-19-2009, 03:54 PM i got 13 wrong on the Verbal portion... i DO NOT DESERVE a 10!!!.. thats like an 8 max... I do not want false hope kaplan!!! but i got a 14/14 on the sci sections :D (curve still to easy, but not as bad as FL 1 where i got 9 wrong in PS and got a 14.... ) vandyam 07-19-2009, 04:36 PM yea, kaplan's curves suck. im over kaplan -- not taking any more of their exams... they just throw me off compared to aamc. good job on the score though, you seem to be steadily rocking all the exams you take. Doodl3s 07-19-2009, 11:13 PM haha i've only taken two so far... are you stalking me?? vandyam 07-20-2009, 12:17 AM lmao, no. I just remember your thread about getting 9 wrong and a 14 (if I remember correctly) on the PS section of FL1. Didn't you score in the high 30s on that one as well? have you taken any AAMC exams yet? If not, I would suggest it as your MCAT date looms closer. Doodl3s 07-20-2009, 12:46 AM yea, I'm in the kaplan course now, and im scheduled for the aug 25th exam. We're pretty much finishing content review soon, so i have a month until the exam to tie up any loose end EK stuff. Then I have that last month to do kaplan FL 3-10, and AAMC 3-10... but I may skip the last few kaplans and the first few AAMCs since I'm hearing it may hurt more than help. And of course a few EK 101 verbal passages in there to start getting my verbal up. BrainBuff 07-27-2009, 11:05 AM Doing the Kaplan course now also and I am also scheduled for the august 25th. Just got 38 on FL 2..I will be taking my first AAMC this week (one of the middle ones probably...) I am looking forward to see how that one goes.. kwarrior 07-29-2009, 12:00 AM I thought that FL1 was easier than FL2 personally. The verbal section on FL2 was TERRIBLE. So detail oriented, which I don't think we'll see too much of on the real thing. FL1: 12/12/13 FL2: 12/11/13 FL3: 13/15/14 I thought FL3 was the easiest test I've taken thus far. |
